lyrics

The mad light
that keeps my eyes open
to mirrors I've broken
and vistas I've chosen
to look upon

And windows
as wide as we opened
were wide as the ocean
and close as we could come
to anyone.

When this wave
was rising
and you said, 'Hold on,

There's a love that channels in between,
a road that we can ever run free on,
a window we can always see through.
But if you see me as I see you
and your words say what you mean them to
we will always have a road to run by.'

If this sky
should blacken
and this ship
is doomed to go under
it's still been a wonder
to see it all

and know that
for all that we've been through -
the turn of the planets -
we've all that we need to,

to piece up this jigsaw
of broken reflections
and know

There's a love that channels in between,
a road that we can ever run free on,
a window we can always see through.
But if you see me as I see you
and your words say what you mean them to
we will always have a road to run by.
When the wind is ever beating
and it's blinding just to breathe in
we will always have a seat for sunrise.

So the city glows in a wild rose
and the river flows to a wide ocean,
a bright island, a bright hope
that we can never pass by.
And the sun will blaze through a keyhole
with the starlight in a free-fall
and the lights rise to the wide window
of an open eye.

And this time
we'll see through a new light
and breathe into new life
the pieces we've picked up on our way
of mirrors
and turn this light near us,
a torch we can see by
to guide us to daylight
and never stray
from our view,
and though we may hunger
for now in a lifetime,
we're moving much faster
than we'll ever know.

And we'll be a lighthouse when the night shows his face.
